I went down to the LCBO today and was looking around for a bottle of single malt with the intention of trying something new. Nevertheless, I ended up getting one of my favorites, Lagavulin 16. Sometimes you have to go with what is tried and true.

| As far a smoky/peaty whisky goes i find Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg 10, Laphroaig 10 and Quarter Cask hard to beat for price/quality and i am never without a bottle of each of these for when the mood takes me. |

I usually have a bottle of each of these in the cabinet plus usually a bottle of Caol ila 12, these would be my auld favourites from Islay.
Other auld favourites which i am rarely without in the cabinet would be Glenmorangie 10, Glenfarclas 15, Talisker 10, Glenfiddich 15. Probably have a number of other regular drams but these are the ones i would replace as soon as i finish a bottle. |
