List was right enough. Here is a link with prices and number of bottles.

http://cognisnews.*/2012/08/28/diageo-announce-2012-collection-of-limited-edition-single-malt-scotch-whiskies-in-the-special-releases-series/

See that the amount of PE has halfed over last year.

By my calulations the price in pounds would be:

Brora 35yo (1976-1977) £422
Lagavulin 21yo (1991) £359
Port Ellen 33yo (1979) £616
Talisker 35yo (1977) £540

Compared to the last years special release prices:
Port Ellen 32 Year Old 1978 RRP £300
Brora 32 Year Old RRP £300

There wasnt a Talisker or older Lagavulin released last year, but you can see quite an increase in price of the Port Ellen and Brora

That was always the strange one. I'll be chasing the Brora and the lag

Even the Lagavulin 12 price is creeping up a little but i noticed that The Whisky Exchange still have some of the excellent Lagavulin 12 2010 release and it is on offer for £58.49

I wonder if Roseile will get a special release of its own. I know its not the norm for Diageo to release before it is ready but I would say there is a demand and it would be good money for them.

Think the Lagavulin 21yo will be the most in demand bar the Port Ellen.

The Dalwhinnie 25yo will be really hard for retailers to shift.

I will have my usual bottle of Lagavulin 12 but i have to say i may think twice if they increase the price of it again next year as after all it is only 12 years old and i doubt it is very limited

I added the official press release for the Diageo 2012 Special Releases to the Whisky News section of the site this morning.

Diageo 2012 Special Releases

I would have been surprised if there had been a Roseisle amongst the releases. I am sure the Port Ellen, Talisker and Brora will be excellent but personally i am tempted by the Lagavulin 21 in this years releases.

Diageo are taking the *** and think they're doing you a favour when in truth it's you, the consumer, who is doing THEM a favour by even considering to buy their overpriced bottles.

Yes some outrageous pricing but i think Diageo will know there market and will be confident that there will be enough buyers worldwide willing and able to pay these prices, unfortunately i am not one of them. It will be the Lagavulin 12 for me again this year i think.
