I have been informed that later this month Bowmore will launch a very rare whisky but meanwhile here is a teaser video showing how the unique platinum top for the cork was made by specialist Hamilton & Inches, a leading Edinburgh jewellers.

William, that's quite a box, more like a rare chest to house a very special treasure.

I wonder if it could be another edition of Black Bowmore which was a 1964 vintage so if they still had some in a cask it would be about 48 year old now. So i will have a guess at it being a 48 year old. Price £8000

They have done a Bowmore 40 year old a couple of years ago i think, cant remember what the price tag was though. Anyway all the big distilleries seem to have a 50 year old whisky so i would guess it will be a 50 year old with a £12000 price tag.

It was in September 2010 they released the Bowmore 40 year old which was priced £6500 and limited to 53 bottles.

That is some size of box, you wouldnt get many of those in your whisky cabinet. I would guess it will be a 50 year old getting released

Here is the final teaser video before Bowmore reveal the whisky itself, this time focusing on the craftsmanship that went into the hand blown glass bottle that will hold the soon to be released rare expression of Bowmore

www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/rarebowmorewhiskypart3.htm

I have been told all will be revealed on Monday 17th September, so watch this space.

That's one very impressive bottle with the Islay waves motif and the fusion of glass and platinum as materials. All they have to do now is "fill er' up".
