More good news, following the announcement of the reopening of the Glenglassaugh Distillery the Chivas Brothers, owned by Pernod Ricard has announced that it is to increase its Speyside operations by expanding the The Glenlivet Distillery and reopening Braeval Distillery, because of the global demand for Scotch whisky.
The Glenlivet distillery will get a new mash tun, six new stills and eight new wash backs to accommodate increased production. The expansion will begin as soon as all muncipal approvals are acquired.
The Braeval Distillery, located near Tomintoul. is scheduled to reopen in July. Chivas Brothers originally founded Braeval in 1973. Chivas intend to use the Braeval distillery to supply spirit for Chivas blended whiskies.

That is good news for jobs in the Speyside area and it is always good to see another distillery open up.

Hi William,
you're the bringer of more good news .. . . . .
I must stop laying on sunny beaches on Tenerife and look / listen to all the great news around Speyside !! Being No 2 in the world it looks like Glenlivet will now target Glenfiddich for the top spot but they are still behind in sales.
Thanks for the info, Rene _________________ Ardbeg 4 ever |
