AOIBHINN is a rare Ardbeg 1974 Single Malt Scotch whisky bottled in a very unique bottle designed by Maeve Gillies is to be auctioned to raise funds for an essential rebuild of St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh.

AOIBHINN, pronounced "ee-vin" and meaning joyful in Scottish Gaelic, is the result of a unique collaboration between New York-based award-winning Scottish jewellery designer Maeve Gillies and Ardbeg Distillery.

This rare whisky is being auctioned at the St Columba's Hospice Live Life Ball at The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Saturday 6th October 2012. All funds raised will go towards an essential rebuild of St Columba's Hospice. This is now required to ensure that they can continue to provide the highest quality of care in a state-of-the-art specialist palliative care environment which will care for future generations at the most difficult of times.

I would think this will draw a lot of interest, well hopefully it does. It has got to be the most exclusive bottling of Ardbeg to come available. Out of my price range but i would hope it fetches well in excess of £10000

Thought i would update this thread.

The one-off bottle of St Columba's 1974 "AOIBHINN" Ardbeg Reserve, in a unique bottle designed by Maeve Gillies, raised £27,000 for the St Columba's Hospice. In total they raised £400,000 at the St Columba's Hospice Live Life Ball at the newly refurbished Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Saturday evening.
