|
|
A new range of Glengoyne whisky has been unveiled by Ian Macleod Distillers. The new look Glengoyne range includes a number of new whiskies as well as some old favourites that you already know.
The existing Glengoyne 10 year old, 12 year old and 21 year old will be joined by three new malts - a new Glengoyne 15 year old, a new no age statement cask strength expression which replaces the current 12 year old cask strength and a Glengoyne 18 year old which is an upgrade the current very popular 17 year old.
For the travellers amongst you, the Glengoyne travel retail exclusives Burnfoot and Glengoyne 15 year old Distiller's Gold will still be available alongside the 10 year old, new Cask strength, 18 year old and 21 year old.
The Glengoyne range also has a new look, for more info and tastings note for the entire range old & new bottlings see here:

| Out of interest, is there a reason that distilleries put out travel retail only bottles? |

Perhaps the travel retail exclusives do more to entice the traveller to impulse buy as they wont be able to find the bottle in shops |

Odd that they replaced the cask strength 12 which i thought was a great dram with a no age statement cask strength, i wonder what the prices are of the new range. |

| The Glengoyne 17 was my choice of the range so looking forward to trying the 18 sometime, hopefully it is simply a year older and they havent messed with the vatting. |

| You do wonder what sort of age whisky is in the cask strength NAS bottle then, I'm guessing it contains some (most) under 10 year old whisky, but a new cask strength whisky in the market place is never a bad thing. Something to look forward to me thinks |

| I notice that the excellent Teapot dram is still available and that if you buy two the postage is free |
