I was pleased and fascinated by a new range of single malt scotches here in Ontario just now being promoted by the LCBO.
Would love to get opinions on some of these as I'm sure Europe has had some of these for a while:
The Glenlivet Single Cask Edition Helios
The Glenlivet Single Cask Edition Josie
The Glenlivet Cellar Collection 1980, (31 years) (This one prices at 1500. CDN)
The Glenlivet 25 years
Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The Glenlivets are all limited releases i think, arent Helios and Josie part of some sort of alphabetical Glenlivet series.
Only had a small sample of the Glenlivet 25 at a tasting and thought it was outstanding. |

Yes, Blakey I believe The Glenlivets (Helios and Josie) are limited releases as the LCBO has been allotted very few bottles for the whole Province of Ontario. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

You are correct Blakey The Glenlivets Helios and Josie are part of a series of alphabetised expressions of The Glenlivet Single Cask Editions. Introduced in 2005 the range includes to date The Glenlivet Atlantic, Blairfindy, Cairn Daimh, Drumin, Eclipse, Faemussach, Guardians, Helios, Josie, Inveravon, Kilimanjaro and Legacy. Not all bottles were available in all markets so it would take a bit of effort to get a hold of them all.
Some tasting notes here for some of the more recent bottlings:
www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/glenlivetsinglecaskeditions.htm
The Glenlivet 25 is one of the best Glenlivets i have tasted next to a couple excellent Glenlivet Cellar Collection bottlings which were the Glenlivet Cellar Collection 1959 and 1964
Havent had the pleasure of the Glenlivet Cellar Collection 1980 but a good friend who's opinion i would rate highly told me it is the best Glenlivet he has ever tried. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Personally i was disappointed with the new Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve, i enjoy the odd cigar but Dalmore failed to capture what the original cigar malt had and at a way more expensive price, not a brand i will buy again. |
