Was out for a drive this morning and passed by the site of the new Falkirk distillery Shocked

Semed to be just groundwork and a few site buildings at the moment but was looking good.

Will call by again next weekend and post a picture for you all.

Thinking about it now its actually closer to Polmont, a lot closer, so maybe the names a bit of a liberty Rolling Eyes

This is a brief message on the Falkirk distillery web site:

"There can be no doubt that the new distillery will provide a multifunctional resource capable of delivering a range of practical solutions for business and leisure in the area. Of course the whisky itself must not be overlooked. Replicating the spirit of the past would produce a triple distilled whisky unique to the area and put Falkirk firmly back on the map as a whisky producing area" . More info at link below.

Once completed, the distillery will provide 86 full time jobs

Certainly more than the 16 men of Tain Very Happy

It will be a long time before they will see 75,000 visitors a year, i would have thought they would need to establish the whisky first.

I assume there aim is to produce a Rosebank style whisky, did they acquire the old stlls from Rosebank.

I've a feeling it needs to go a long long way before it has that many visitors, but one can never compain about another distillery opening up.
