| I have been visiting Tomintoul twice a year now for quite some time to top up on Tomintoul special - a blend of malts from the area around the village ...... i just wondered what you people on line thought of it ?? |

I assume you are refering to Campbells Tomintoul Special. I had it once a while back, i got it from the Whisky Castle Tomintoul. I cant remember now if it was a vatted malt or a blend of malts and grain. Anyway i recall it was a smooth but powerful cask strength blend.
I think i am right in saying that it was originally blended by local shop owners by the name of Campbell and you will only find it available at the Whisky Castle today.

Thats one i have never come across before, sounds like an interesting blend with a bit of kick at cask strength
