Has anyone tried this special single malt?

It's available by special order here in Ontario. Here's a comment about it:
"Unlike other double matured samples here this shows integration and is distillate rather than wood driven. Special Designation: Editor's Choice. Score - 90. (Dave Broom, whiskymag.com, March 2012)
Just a quick review provided by Vintages: ($122. Canadian Dollars)
"Nose: To start there's some bracken before it sweetens into hard toffee and then waves of fruits. All very exotic and fragrant with notes of sweet vanilla and chocolate. Palate: Sweet, there's a good elegant maturity and lots of spice. Finish: Rosehip syrup".
Also, it's actually made up of 2 parts 15 year old to 1 part 21 year old whisky for a solid mix of well matured Glenmorangie according to The Whisky Exchange where it is also available I just learned. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| The Glenmorangie Artein is the 3rd in the Glenmorangie Private Edition Range, the first being the excellent Glenmorangie Sonnalta PX and 2nd Glenmorangie Finealta. All have been excellent with the Sonnalta being the best of the bunch IMO. |

Hi Gregor. Actually, I had the Sonnalta PX at a tasting in Niagara-on- the- Lake and it was outstanding, what I would describe as a stellar dessert single malt. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Bookie, that's very good to know. It's offered here only by special order from the Vintages division of LCBO and for limited time. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Many rated the Sonnalta as the best but they are simply different IMHO and all very moreish. |
