Auchentoshan, the only triple distilled Single Malt Scotch Whisky, have recently released three new limited editions - the very rare Auchentoshan 1966 and Auchentoshan 1979, and the second small batch release of the Auchentoshan Valinch 2012.
Auchentoshan 1979 - Fully matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts for over 32 years. Bottled at cask strength, the expression is non chill-filtered. This is the latest from the superb series of vintage releases from the late 1970s. A deliciously enticing big fruity nose leads you to an equally delicious mature quality sherried Auchentoshan, outstanding

Auchentoshan Valinch 2012 - the second edition of this small batch release. Matured in first-fill North American ex-Bourbon oak casks, the Valinch is a cask strength edition of the acclaimed Classic. A youthful whisky, superior to its lower strength Auchentoshan Classic sibling. This is a bigger hitting Auchentoshan with more depth of flavour and a must try for those who enjoy the Classic.

Auchentoshan 1966- A bourbon cask matured rare vintage release and one of the rarest distillery bottling expressions of any Lowland Single Malt Whisky ever released.

Auchentoshan have released some really impressive stuff in the 1970s vintage series and this is by far the best of the sherry cask matured releases in the series. _________________ There's no bad whisky. The 1979 does sound very good but i will have to make do with the sherried Auchentoshan 3 Wood for now. |

| I had a bottle of the Auchentoshan Valinch last year and thought it was a pretty decent no age statement cask strength lowland whisky, which you dont really see many of, or any that i can think of. |
