This is an unusual product available at the LCBO.

Glenglassaugh was closed for 23 years and reopened in 2008 by private investors. Since going back into production Glenglassaugh have released a few new make spirit bottlings such as this The Spirit Drink and also some wine cask and peated new make bottlings such as Glenglassaugh Blushes, Glenglassaugh Clearac, Glenglassaugh Peated and Glenglassaugh Fledgling XB.
These bottlings raise money for the distillery while it waits for its maturing whisky to come of age. They are also interesting to try and give whisky drinkers an idea of what to expect from Glenglassaugh in the future.
Glenglassaugh recently released a single malt whisky produced since going back into production in 2008, i havent had the chance to try it yet but i did try most of there new make releases and they were an interesting clue as to what we will see in the not too distant future. There new single malt released this year is called Glenglassaugh Revival and is available at The Whisky Exchange who also still have some of there new make releases available. You will find the Glenglassaugh Revival here:

I have had some of there older stuff produced before it shut down for 23 years such as the Glenglassaugh 21 year old and it was very good indeed. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

William, thanks for such an insightful and informative frame of reference regarding this distillery and the evolution of their product line. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I've tried some of the new make at a tasting earlier in the year, can't say that I was impressed, tasted like chemicals and sweet bananas.
I only hope some time spent with some decent oak will do it the world of good |

The bottle is going for 60.00 Canadian at the LCBO, about 37 pounds equivalent. If it goes on clearance sometime, I may give it another look. Bought 2 more bottles of Glenfiddich Cask of Dreams Canadian Edition instead at 99.00 Cdn each. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
