My taste notes for The Peat Monster today

Here are my taste notes for today with The Peat Monster Malt Scotch Whisky by Compass Box

Neat-

Nose: Juicy Fruit Gum ( a brand) in a smokey mist, peat with a hint of meringue, fruit jello adorned with bonfire smoke and a touch of ash, a dash of cantaloupe and peppermint candy cane.

Palate: Peat, hint of dark chocolate, smoke, honey, spice, creamy, warming, dash of pepper and leather.

Finish: Lingering, spice, oak tannins, peat crawling not striding, bonfire smoke, minty clean then oily with a hint of pepper.

The Peat Monster is like a family pet who in a past life stalked the neighborhood with an edge and ferocity. Though it now shows its true colors occasionally, it has been tamed. But we all know that we do still cling to the family pet with trust and affection. How's that for a metaphorical exercise?
