Benromach's overall sales were up by 40% in 2012 and exports increased by 55%. The single malt, which includes the excellent Benromach 10 Years Old as part it its portfolio, experienced particularly strong growth in sales to China, Sweden, the USA and France. Sales in the UK increased by 13%.

Its rise in sales is set to continue prompting owners Gordon & MacPhail to invest £400k in a new bottling plant in Elgin.

This is excellent news.

It great to see some investment in the Elgin area, as a child I'd go to Elgin most weekends and now when I visit, perhaps twice a year, it always feels like the local economy is struggling.
