Got an email this morning saying that the Kilchoman Machir Bay is ready for it's 2013 release!!
The 2013 bottling is a vatting of 4 and 5 year old single malt, matured in fresh bourbon barrels, with the 4 year old being finished in sherry butts for 4 weeks prior to bottling.
Producers Tasting Note:
On the nose there are soft cooked fruits with strong peaty aromas. The palate opens up into soft mixed fruits and vanilla with an intense sweetness. A classic Islay malt now showing the benefits of additional ageing with a long lingering finish.
Machir Bay 2013 will be available from the 4th of March, usually priced around £38
