Jura will celebrate the 50th Anniversary since the distillery reopened at the 2013 Feis Ile. Those attending the celebrations will get the chance to taste some very special whiskies including Delme Evans Select, Festival Bottling 2013, Turas Mara and a rather unusual 39 ¾ year old whisky which is a preview of the forthcoming Jura 40 year old which wont be launched until 2014.
As part of the two day festival on 29th and 30th May, visitors to Jura will be able to hear about the rebirth of Jura distillery first hand and experience some of the finest malts Jura has to offer.
The two day Jura festival is on the 29th and 30th May and is part of the Islay Festival.

| They could have done a 2nd edition of the Jura Delme Evans Select. I am surprised the marketing people at Whyte & Mackay have missed this opportunity to follow this up and start a series. I had a bottle of the Jura 1988 Delme Evans Select 19 year old which was bottled in 2007, it was a lovely dram with a could bit of sherry influence. Sherried or more heavily peated (i.e Jura Prophecy) would be my preference from the Jura distillery. |

| Keith the peated Jura Prohecy is my choice of the Jura range, i wish they would do a peated bottling in the same price range as the Superstition and 10 year old. |

Last Thursday evening (30th May) as part of the Jura 50th anniversary celebrations I was invited to take part in a very special tasting hosted by Steve Rush of thewhiskywire.com. What made this tasting so special was the line up of Jura whiskies which I got the chance to taste, some of the finest and rarest malts Jura has to offer.
The line up included Jura Turas Mara, Jura 1977, Jura Delme Evans, Jura 30 Year Old and a rather unusual 39 ¾ year old whisky is a pre-launch of the Jura 40 year old which will officially be launched some time in 2014.
This is what I thought of them.
