Ok, got a Committee mail through from Ardbeg on Thursday declaring the next release. 1st June 2013.

As it seems no-one on here has mentioned it I thought I'd start a topic.

Mail reads:

"It doesn't take much digging around the internet to discover what Ardbeg is up to. However, here is the first nugget to emerge about what we can all look forward to on 1st June 2013 or - to give it its official title - Ardbog Day.

Yes, you read it correctly. Forthwith, Ardbeg Day 2013 will be known as Ardbog Day"?

"To those who nose their peaty whisky, the peat bogs of Islay are the sacred ground from whence the peatiness within every drop of Adrbeg hails.

And to honour our beloved Islay landscape and the secrets that lie buried beneath it, we are launching a Limted Edition bottling named Ardbog"

So my question is; what do we all think this release is going to be?

In my opinion it's something they have "dug up", so either a gem of a find amongst the maturing barrels at the back of the warehouse somewhere...or they have gone bonkers and chucked Ardbeg into casks made from bog oak.

...or maybe a combination of the 2 Very Happy

I know that Cooleys did this with Connemara Bog Oak whiskey where the distilate was partly matured in casks with Bog Oak heads, but I think this is the most likely.
