Hello all,

Bob and myself have been walking around with an idea which we're finally are going to make happen. Tommy (our friend from Germany) came up with the name: Maltstock!

We going to try to get together as many whiskyclubs as we possibly can. So far we've tracked down 330 clubs from 28 different countries. But there are probably more clubs out there, but without a website.
If you know of a club that's not on the list, please elt us know!
All the clubs received an invitation for Maltstock!

We hope to meet many clubs next year: first weekend of september (4-6 sep) 2009

All the info on Maltstock you can read at the website we've created: http://www.maltstock.com

Would love to hear your thoughts, comments on Maltstock. And hopefully meet many of ou next year!
Perhaps a special forum club?

Slainte!
(laddie) Teun

Whisky drinking in a field/woods in Holland in September certainly doesnt appeal to me and correct me if i am wrong but the people attending the event supply the whisky. No whisky companies offering tastings of their latest bottlings. All seems a bit odd, I would rather buy my own whisky and stay at home.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for you reaction. Sorry you don't like the idea.
Yes everybody will bring a bottle of whiksy. One they want to share and enjoy with fellow whisky lovers. The thing we like about Maltstock is the fact it will be a gathering of whisky clubs from all over the world. So you get to meet and greet other clubs from other countries. And the fact that nobody has to go home after a couple of hours. And the fact you get to share and enjoy whisky with many liek minded people. Unlike crowded festivals.

By buying your own whisky and staying home you'll just get to taste the one bottle and alone.. Wink

Although this is not to intended to be just an other whiksy festival (there are plenty of those around) we do hope to have some bottlers and distilleries present. As mentioned on the website we're currently working on that. But these things will take time. It looks that for starters BenRiach and GlenDronach will be present.

Hopes this calrifies a bit.

Thanks again for your thoughts. Any questions just let me know.
Would love to hear what other people think of Maltstock.

Teun

I agree Andy, it does seem an odd type of event. Doesnt appeal to me either. Makes me think of the boy scouts except with whisky.

All the best with it anyway Teun
