Hello, everybody.
I am fairly inexperienced in purchasing single malts as an investment.
I am trying to start a collection of whiskys at present that could provide a decent return in the future. I have been offered a bottle of Highland Park Thor (i will keep the price to myself for now) can anybody here give their thoughts on what they think it is worth, and if it could prove to be a good investment in years to come?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and any advice on what to look for when buying a whisky for investment!!
Kind Regards. |

Welcome. Here in Canada where prices are sky high, the LCBO is selling the Highland Park Thor 16 for the equivalent of 160 pounds bearing in mind that prices here are about 35-45% higher than in Great Britain. Investment whisky here in Canada (Ontario) is basically a non-issue as there are no avenues to sell here. Nevertheless, many single malt folk including myself dream about huge profit margins as investment but many of us end up drinking the bottles and in the end that's where the greatest pleasure abides. In any event that's the opinion of one humble Canadian.

Not an investable IMO. Overpriced, too many bottles .... you can find it stil in every whisky shop in London. Get the canadian cask of dreams or a balvenie tun 1401 if you are looking for investment! _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |
