|
|
In a departure from their typical heavily sherried style that you will all be familiar with, Glenfarclas have released a single cask limited edition whisky which has been 100% matured for 31 years in a Port Cask. This unique Port Cask matured Glenfarclas was distilled and laid down in 1981 and bottled in July 2012 at 42.8% ABV. The cask yielded only 480 bottles which will be made available exclusively to the UK and French markets.
Should be an interesting one for Glenfarclas fans. The Glenfarclas 31 year old Port Cask will set you back £280 a bottle.

Grant, I wouldnt mind getting a bottle of this myself. I was lucky enough to get to taste the Glenfarclas 43 year old Cognac Cask which was excellent and the only non-sherried Glenfarclas i have tried.
I believe Glenfarclas have a number of experimental casks maturing in their warehouses (some of which i imagine probably wont see the light of day), the 43 year old Cognac cask was one of them and this Glenfarclas 31 Port Cask is another and i suspect Glenfarclas matured in a Port Cask could be very good indeed and i dont think the guys at Glenfarclas would release this unless they were certain that it was no less than outstanding. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Hi William
Looks like a very different botting from normal Glenfarclas.
Where did you see this bottle at £280?

Ken | Ken, £280 is the Retail Recommended Price which Glenfarclas quoted to me but they dont have control over what the whisky shops sell it for and it looks like they are charging around £310 for this. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
