Hi folks,
Does anyone have news on this expression including release date etc? I'm a huge Talisker fan and this sounds really intriguing, but I can't find much about it.

| I have heard it mentioned, a no age statement port finish or possibly port cask matured Talisker but dont quote me on that. Should be interesting. |

NAS, Port cask finished, should be around in a month or two, £50 RRP I think. _________________ Talisker 18 - the rest are just details |

Some info on the Talisker Port Ruighe here, but i havent tasted it yet:
www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/taliskerportruiche.htm
An interesting fact about the new whisky is that Port Ruighe (pronounced "Portree') is the Gaelic spelling of of the once bustling trading port Portree on Skye on the Isle of Skye.
As its name suggests this new expression of Talisker has spent some time in Port wine casks. It is a combination of spirit that has been matured in American Oak and European Oak refill casks in the traditional manner along with spirit that has been filled into specially conditioned deeply charred casks. The spirit is has then been finished in casks that have previously held Port Wine which endows it with spicy fruit notes.
Like the Talisker Storm, Talisker Port Ruighe carries no age statement and was bottled at the traditional Talisker strength of 45.8% ABV. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| I think I'll be giving it a miss, I find the Talisker Distillers Edition pretty disappointing, so a similarly finished NAS version would be more impressive. (unless port goes with Talisker better than sherry, that is) |

| I do like a port finished whisky so i am looking forward to trying this, as long as it isnt overly sweet i think the port could work well with Taliskers peppery style. |

| I do like a port finish and think this could work well with Talisker so i will be trying it. I wish some of the big peaty Islays would do a port finish, i am sure if the Talisker Port Ruighe is popular i am sure one of the big Islays may do a port finish |

Some interesting comments there and by coincidence I've noticed Google has suddenly come to life in the last few hours with fresh links! Dr Pete - where is it on pre-order? £50 sounds reasonable _________________ "I'm gonna give you to the count of 10, to get your lying, yellow, no-good keister off my property, before I pump your guts full of lead!" |

Think I will wait till the forum has tried it for reaction or I can get a taste before I buy, its not a linmited edition so not in a hurry. I might pick up a couple of 18`s as I fear the price may take a big jump.
The DE often gets knocked on here but I would like to say that I find it rather enjoyable. _________________ Putting the func in dysfunctional. |

| I see Serge Valentin has already tried it and only gave it 70. In contrast, he did like the Storm, which he marked in the high 80s I think. |
