You have probably heard already, this years Ardbeg Day whisky will be named Ardbog. It will be launched on the 1st of June which they have rernamed Ardbog Day.

Ardbog is matured for ten years in traditional American oak ex-bourbon barrels and rare ex-Spanish Manzanilla sherry butts. It is bottled at 52.1% ABV, non chillifiltered and will be available from www.ardbeg.com when it is launched or if you are lucky enough to be at the Islay Festival you can pick a bottle up at the distillery.

More info on Ardbog Day, Ardbog whisky and a tasting note here:

Yes i will be in the queue for this one, well the online queue at least. As i buy whisky to drink and enjoy and not to make £50 or so on a limited release i hope they are releasing a truck load of it so if i enjoy it i can then buy a 2nd bottle if i wish.

Think I will try a couple of bottles of this if available.
I always find Ardbeg a tough bottle to drink.....until a third of the way down and whoosh there goes the night!!

Better with every glass. I know, thats not the right way to "enjoy it" Top Malt

But one to drink and one to chuck in the cupboard with the rest. It may go up in value but Ive a sneaky suspsicion that blended whisky will take its turn back on the swings and roundabouts and the worst that can happen is I have a bottle to share at a special moment.

After all......what else can you look at with a smile on your face that can so........annoy the other half without her being able to express her disgust? Laughing

Ha ha, so true. It's one of those that you can 'nose' from the other side of the room, whether you want to or not!

Yes, sore one, but i suppose you didnt have to be clairvoyant to have predicted the price would go up.

Think i was expecting it to be nearer the £65 mark as that is what i paid for the 12 year old Galileo, it will still sell out though.

You can still pick up the Corry for less than £53 if you know where to look Very Happy But agree that is not the norm.

You can still pick up the Ardbeg Corryvreckan from World of Whiskies at the airport £57

At least the Ardbog will be available from the Ardbeg website. I havent read anywhere what the number of bottles available will be.

with waitrose selling the Ardbeg 10 @ £36 atm its hard to make an argument for a bottle of Ardbeg @ £88.50 (incl.P&P)

2 bottles of 10 seems like the sensible choice Wink
