My friend came by for her single malt tasting this afternoon and I was very impressed with her ability to describe aromas and flavors as a neophyte to this activity. She preferred the Tomintoul 21 and Aberlour 16 over the Caol Ila Distiller's Edition-Moscatel but liked the sweet smoke of the last one. We did taste notes and compared the 3 drams through the session so she could pick up the fine differences and accentuation elements. It was a wonderful experience for her and I enjoyed sharing my knowledge of single malts as well. A complete scotch tasting success.

Very Happy

Sounds like it was am enjoyable night all round and you got your choice of drams spot on.

Convert to malt whisky? Or just a passing interest?

Alun, she mentioned that she would like us to do another tasting. Convert potential here I think.
