I'm usually quite a fan of Tomintoul. The link is below for the release, I'm just after everyone's thoughts on whether this a decent buy or not and if anyone has tasted it before committing to buying something right at the top of my budget for drinking.

http://www.dramming-news.com/2013/04/26/tomintoul-distillery-releases-first-vintage-single-cask-whisky/

A quick cut and paste below -

Tomintoul Distillery has just released its first ever single cask edition of its award winning malt range. Tomintoul Speyside Glenlivet Single Malt Bourbon Cask - Vintage 1981

The 1981 cask was selected for the exceptional quality of the mature malt whisky therein. The whisky was distilled on the 30th of October 1981 and has matured ever since in bourbon cask number 5985. Bottled in February 2013 at 53.9% ABV, it is deliberately un-chillfiltered.

Only 198 bottles have been produced and each bottle has been individually numbered. The bottle label also records the cask number and the date of distillation and bottling.

Any thoughts great fully received.

Regards

Rob

Sorry I've only just seen this thread.

Looks like a great bottle to me, a bit steep for my wallet mind but I'm sure you will not regret it.

Enjoy when it comes.
