I just noticed that this expression of Macallan has been discontinued at the LCBO but there is still a bit of stock available here in Ontario.

Before I consider buying a bottle or two. I would appreciate opinions.

| I had the Macallan 10 year old cask strength a while ago, it was exclusive to travel retail, it was a very enjoyable big sherried expression of the Macallan, discontinued some time ago i think. I see your bottle is a no age statement bottle which i havent tried but i believe it is a big sherried Macallan like the 10 year old version i had. Macallan are usually pretty consistent with quality in my experience. |

The Macallan Cask Strength in the US and Canada carried no age statement. I believe the age in the vatting varied from 8 to 12 years old from European sherry casks.
AFAIK it was only the US and Canada that got the Macallan Cask Strength no age statement expression I believe the rest of the world and travel retail had the 10 year old version of the cask strength.
I would guess they released the no age statement version to meet demand. I have only had the 10 year old version myself which was very good and i am sure the no age statement version will be as good. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| The Macallan Cask Strength is excellent I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone with a taste for the sherryoak style Macallan. I would agree with Williams comment saying it s is a vatting of 8 to 12 years. A bit of younger stuff in there but the strength adds to it making it a great expression. |
