Here are my taste notes from last night. This Berry Bros. & Rudd expression at 54.4% abv.


Color- White Wine
Body-Medium

Neat-

Nose: Granny Smith apples, lichee nuts in syrup and fruit cocktail. Very sweet and mild on the nose.

Palate: Here's a profile of a different color from the aromatic nose presentation. Here we are particpants in the experience of heavy spice, bulrushes, white pepper, green chili and Grandad's leather armchair.

Finish: Long, the palate elements continue in temporal splendor with that spice and pepper augmented by sea salt notes.

This is a powerful dram which is in the driver's seat as soon as your taste buds engage with it. A few drops of water tame the intensity and actually bring out some new notes which intersect at times with the nose profile but maintain the complexity and balance of the expression. Not for the faint of heart if you are going to have this one neat.
