I have tasted the Hammer Head 1989, in fact i still have half a bottle in the cupboard. It is quite a smooth, floral, malty whisky. It can be quite difficult to get a hold of a bottle here, i think most shops sell it for around £40 - £45 but most shops are sold out. World of Whiskies airport shops sell it for £30 if i remember correctly, that is where i got my bottle. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Hi William. That's fascinating that you even have a bottle of the stuff. Brilliant. The price isn't bad either. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Murray, i just looked out the bottle i have, it has only about 1/3 left in the bottle so decided to pour some as it has been over a year since i last had some. It has still got its character after sitting so long. It really is a decent dram and very unique when you think about, a Czech whisky produced behind the iron curtain which fell in at the end of 1989 and matured in 100% Czech oak.
I will be passing through Glasgow airport again tomorrow afternoon, i will have a look to see if they still have it. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
