The Scapa Distillery on the Orkney Islands today opened its doors to the public for the first time in its 130 year history. Visits to Scapa include a tour of the traditional, manually-operated production methods, including the only whisky Lomond still in Scotland, and a walk along the front of the distillery to see the Scapa Flow, the natural harbour separating each of the Orkney Islands.

About time they opened their doors. It would be good if they offered something exclusive to taste and buy on your visit, other than just the 16 year old.

Opening the doors to the public and making friends is good for business. I will visit many of them when I win the lottery. Laughing

Was up at Highland Park a year past Easter and thought it a shame that Scapa wasn't open to visitors, having been turned on to the 16yo by a Kirkwall Uppie.

Now a great reason for us to make a return visit.
