Hi All
I have a few half full whiskies that I am a bit 'meh' about, for example AnCnoc 1994 and also Hibiki 12, they're fine but not massively inspiring.. anyway Q is what to do with them...
1) experiment with a solera - done
2) swap (anyone here got half fulls they are not too exited about ?)
3)... |

I like the idea of a forum swap shop for whisky, I gues it would only be UK people invovled, but like you I have, in the past, had some bottles which Ive tried to like and no matter how much I try im just not into them, to have somewhere we can swap bottles like this or even samples with each other would be excellent.
I'm lucky enough to work at the same place as Bifter off of here and he and I regularly swap 5cl bottles of whatever we have recently opened. It's a good way of trying new things without the cost and nice to get another perspective on what you're drinking.
I for one opt for option 2. I dont have any half bottles im not into at the moment, however, I do have plenty of empty 5cl bottles and will happy exchange with UK forum members who are interested. |

Royal Mail (not to mention eBay) have recently become big party poopers. It wouldn't be that easy to send whisky even within the UK. Mind you, do they actually scan every package? _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

I suppose if you're only sending 5cl bottles its not the end of the world if one gets opened and doesn't make it through, but if it keeps happening regularly it would become quickly unworkable. |

They ask you a few questions but as long as it's below 24% ABV they will post it. On occasion I've said I'm posting wine! So far on approximately 10 occasions I've posted whisky with the royal mail with no dramas with being slightly economical with the truth. |
