Tomatin Legacy is a no age statement addition to the Tomatin range which has been released this momth.
Matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels and Virgin Oak casks and bottled at a strength of 43% ABV, The Tomatin Legacy will initially be available in Europe from March 2013 then it will be rolled out worldwide. It has a RRP of £24.49 which is only a few pound less than their 12 year old sherry finish. It should start to appear in the whisky shops soon.

Another no age statement, at least its price tag is in line with its age. The virgin oak should add a good bit of sweetnss and spice and i imagine there will be some youthfulness in it so it could be an interesting whisky.

I am surprised Tomatin are doing a no age statement, i thought they had a large output capacity and should have a large maturing stock, or have i got that wrong. Still another single malt in this price range is always interesting to try.

Bookie, Tomatin do have a large output capacity of 5000000 litres per year but last i heard they dont run to full capacity, dont know why? Last year they had an output of 1800000 which is quite a bit below capacity.

I tried this over the weekend. I can say that for the price it's well worth the money. It wont blow you away but for £25 you don't expect that.

I have no problem with no-age statements if they're not exorbitantly priced and this one looks like it fits the bill.
