Anyone had this? What's your verdict? I noticed that Sainsbury's has it on offer for £36.99, which seems like a great price for a non-chill filtered Glenfiddich of this age (e.g. it's only a couple of quid more than the regular Glenfiddich 12). Ideally I'd like to try before I buy but I doubt I'll come across it in a pub or bar - so, any opinions? What can I expect from it?

I think it is a superb expression of the Glenfiddich, loads of vanilla, fruit and spice have gotten through a couple of bottles now. Cheers for the heads up that Sainsbury's has it on offer for £36.99

Totally agree with Keith a superb expression of Glenfiddich and £36.99 is a great price. If i remember correctly i think this is being discontinued (but dont quote me on that), maybe why it is reduced so get it while you can.

Alexppp the Glenfiddich 15 Distillery Edition is excellent, if you like Glenfiddich you wont be disappointed.

I paid £45 from the glenfiddich shop to stick in my collection.

Ive just bought one tonight so Ill be able to have a taste of it now. Hope its as good as you say...I may buy a couple more. Ive always thought the 15 year old was the best of the normal range....

It could become a new favourite Top Malt

Thanks guys, I went back today and got myself a bottle. And William - that was spot on, The Whisky Exchange website says that it is indeed being discontinued. My local Sainsbury's still had a bottle left so I guess they'll still be available depending on the shop. Thanks again for the advice.

I agree that the 15 is the best of the normal range. It will be interesting to see how the Distillery Edition compares - as far as I know it's a vatting of bourbon and sherry casks, as opposed to the Solera vat of the regular 15 which marries bourbon, sherry, and new oak.

Your correct Alex they are 2 different whiskies and both are excellent expressions of Glenfiddich

I was at a Fiddy tasting recently and the pretty unanimous opinion was that the Solera 15 was the best of the core range - when tasted side by side with the 12 and 18 it blows them away.

Agreed, also blows away the Rich Oak as well (I know some here rate it pretty highly but I don't). Will open the Distillery Edition soon to see how it compares.

Gave in and opened my bottle - it's excellent (see 'what are you dramming' for my impressions). Makes me wish I'd bought another!
