I just reeived word from The Balvenie and I thought you'd be keen to know that in September they are to launch a limited edition, The Balvenie RumCask 17 Year Old.
This unusual addition to The Balvenie range has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks before spending a second period of maturation in rum casks shipped all the way from Jamaica.
The result is a sweet, warm, spicy whisky that certainly evokes the warm climes of the tropics.
I dont know yet what the RRP will be on this when it is released but it does sound interesting.

Hi William
I also like the sound of a spicy rum Balvenie, i wonder how limited it will be and if it will only be available direct from Balvenie.

It is a fabulous whisky, second bottle I've had this year. I loved the Glemorangie Golden Rum Cask from Sainsburys, now only available at a huge premium elsewhere! _________________ Remember 'A diamond is a piece of coal that did rather well under prtessure!' |
