|
|
The LCBO has recently started to promote the following blends in Ontario.
Your view of what looks good?
Compass Box Oak Cross Blended Malt
Wemyss The Hive 12 Year Blended Malt
Three Ships 5 Year Whisky (Blend of South African and Scotch whiskies).
Also they mention an Irish blend- The Wild Geese Irish Soldiers and Heroes. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Compass Box Oak Cross is excellent, as the name suggests it has plenty of oak spice and vanilla, some fruit in there also, i would highly recommend if you can get this at a decent price. Compass Box are very good at putting together blended malts, Spice Tree and Flaming Heart are worth looking at also.Compass Box Lady Luck and Juvenile were both superb but i doubt you can get a hold of them now.
Wemyss The Hive 12 as the name suggests is a big honied, citrus fruit vanilla'd whisky. Worth a go if you can get it at a good price.
I only know of the Three Ships 10 year old single malt, but havent tasted it. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| I have had the Compass Box Oak Cross out of the ones you mention Murray and it is excellent. I also had the Lady Luck William mentioned and it was outstanding, amongst my top 10 ever tasted drams. |

| I have only had the Oak Cross out of these and have no hesitation recommending it, it is certainly well named. I have never tried any of the Wemyss malts, let me know what you think of it if you decide to try it. |
