Following the release of Talisker Port Ruighe and Talisker Storm in the domestic market earlier this year Talisker have revealed another new no age statement expression of its world-famous scotch - Talisker Dark Storm which will be available exclusively in travel retail is said to be the smokiest whisky produced by the remote island distillery.

Matured in deep charred oak casks for extra spice and smoke, Talisker Dark Storm is a Travel Retail exclusive, bottled at 45.8% ABV.

Priced from £42.00 Talisker Dark Storm will be available in 1 litre bottles in Travel Retail outlets across Asia, Europe and the Middle East from June 2013.

I think Talisker has had problems meeting demand for there older whiskies such as the 18 year old for quite a number of years now i think they withdrew it from a few markets.

The Talisker Dark Storm does sound enticing at £42 for a 1 litre bottle and hopefully it is a smokier expression

I would be interested in trying this to see how smoky it is and even though it has no age, a trend which i am against it isnt too badly priced as it is a 1 litre bottle. If anyone gets hold of a bottle do let us know what you think of it.

Did you get the chance to taste it? I am interested in knowing if it is a smokier whisky as i am not convinced that using deep charred casks will really add much smoke to the whisky, more spice maybe but i would have thought more smoke would have to come from the production process not maturation.

Nope, as usual you get the ridiculous answer - "we,re getting a tasting bottle in a few weeks "

I,be had this answer three times at LHR T5 when wanting to try a brand new release before buying
