Selling water to the Scots? That'll be the day!
The brand I use is Robinet d'Edimbourg. It's free but you have to fill your own bottle _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

That's a cute and funny comment. Personally, I use Fiji water (from the island) imported to Canada. Six 500 ml bottles for about 7.00 Canadian dollars. A single malt aficionado here recommended the Fiji. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Not too cheeky I hope. I guess if you're drinking 25 and 30 year old whiskies (such as you have recently) it makes sense if you want the purest possible experience. But the water quality in Scotland and, I would presume, Canada is surely as good as it's going to get? When I lived in Dundee (the water comes straight from Glen Isla) I had a flatmate, from Vancouver, who still used to filter the tap water. She said she did at home too!
On the other hand - I've been walking in the hills a bit and, coming down from the summits I often used to fill my water bottle, which was probably empty by that point anyway. I used to bring it home and keep it in the fridge and I would swear, untreated, it tasted much more vital and... pure? (hint of dead sheep? Hope not!) _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

I believe Glen Keith distillery (soon to be reopened by Chivas) experimented with peated water. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

At the risk of kicking off the old tap water argument again I have actually found myself having to buy bottled water to dilute my whisky, having moved out of town some months ago. I find it a bit ironic that the water quality is more adulterated in a more rural area but there you go. It has a distinctive chlorine smell to it that makes it taste and smell quite horrible! _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

I can bring in 2l of tap water for you at 25% less than you pay for the bottled stuff if you like.
Selling water to the Scots indeed! |

I've had to swallow my pride Alun! It just goes to show it depends where you live. I was in Stonehaven over the weekend and their water is beautifully clear, I should have filled a bottle to bring back! _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."
