As part of their continued support for the military charity Walking With The Wounded, Glenfiddich will be taking a very special cask of their whisky across the UK for the Spirit of a Nation tour.

This special cask which contains an exclusive Glenfiddich 29 Year Old Single Malt Whisky expression which will be bottled and released in time for Christmas 2013 as part of Glenfiddich's support for the Walking With The Wounded charity will be named "Glenfiddich Spirit of a Nation".

The Spirit of a Nation tour will travel to four locations around Britain, offering the opportunity to support the expedition by signing a message of good luck on the cask. At each destination it will be met by a member of Team Glenfiddich and a Glenfiddich ambassador who will jointly host a free night of adventure and whisky tasting.

William. that sounds wonderful really. Anything that supports the military is a positive gesture that warms all hearts. I served as Sergeant-at-Arms (ret'd) with the Royal Canadian Legion and met with so very many veterans of so many conflicts as well.
I've had many a toast with them.

Glenfiddich have given a great deal of support to the Walking With The Wounded charity over the last few years, a very worthy cause. It is great to see them continuing the support. Glenfiddich/William Grants are a big business today but they are still a family owned and run business which i think shows when it comes to supporting good causes such as this.

The 4 locations - York, Aldershot, Cardiff and Inverness for the Spirit of a Nation Tour are a little out of my way but hopefully some of the members here will be able to make it along to one of the nights.

A 29 year old single cask Glenfiddich, i am sure you will be right William, this will be highly sought after. Hopefully it will be within my price range.

I am sure they will have no shortage of takers no matter what the price. Hopefully it wont be too high and i could treat myself to an early christmas present.

A kind of spin off idea to the Cask of Dreams. The Glenfiddich Spirit Of A Nation is certainly one which will tempt me, hopefully within my price range and all for an excellent cause. It just looks like a standard size cask so i think it will be a quite limited release.

Hopefully the Glenfiddich Spirit Of A Nation will be sensibly priced like the Glenfiddich Foundation Reserve was, if it is i will have a bottle.

I had the privilege of meeting the group at a recent event in London, along with the Glenfiddich UK brand ambassador. It was a very inspiring evening, I encourage anyone who can get to one of these events to go along.

The 4 events are a nowhere near me as i certainly would have went along. I will look out for Glenfiddich Spirit Of A Nation being released as i would certainly be interested in getting a bottle.

From the Glenfiddich website it seems to suggest only 250 bottles. Seems a shame that this release isn't a cask of dreams (Canada, Nordic etc) type release with a few thousand bottles released at a reasonable price.

I would assume these are going to cost Â£300+ which seems a shame as you would assume most will be acquired quickly by collectors and very few ever opened, giving very few people the opportunity to sample what I'm sure will be a great expression of Glenfiddich.

Like others on this tread I'd like to be lucky and get a bottle but like many others I'd also be reluctant to open such a rare bottling with such obvious financial gains likely.

I have been told they are looking at a price point between Â£500 and Â£1000. A very worthwhile cause but that is a very strong price. Perhaps more investment than drinking.

Brummie the last vintage reserve release was early last year (unless i missed one), it was a Glenfiddich 1974 Vintage Reserve 36 year old and was just over Â£500 when released and it was superb, i wish i had bought 2 bottles. Anyway i agree we are overdue a vintage reserve release.

Bad news regarding the price of Spirit of a Nation. It's listed as a dream dram at the Whisky Show in a couple of weeks time requiring two tokens, as the price is listed between Â£1000 - Â£2000. Oh well.
