A friend of mine has been given a bottle of whisky.....

Its a 17yo speyside, sherry cask.....46.1%avb. Bottled in June 2013.
From a sherry butt, distilled at the speyside distillery, kingussie inverness-shire.
Only 480 bottles were produced.

Does anyone know anything about it? he recieved it as a gift and knows nothing about it bar he thinks it came from Hebredian liqueurs.

Nope.

Sounds like an Independant Bottling rather than an Official Distillery bottling. So much independant bottlers about doing single casks there probably wont be much info on it.

Do you know who it was bottled by?

"Speyside" is the name of the distillery and the whisky, the Speyside distillery is located in Kingussie, Speyside. Most of the whisky goes into blends, Tesco sold a Speyside 12 year old a couple of years ago but it is rare to see a distllery bottling

That's right, they often bottle under the names Glentromie and Drumguish, but a single sherry cask, 17yo at 46.1% is unlikely to be an OB and most likely an Indie.

So knowing who bottled it would be useful....

...or a picture.
