This is a new arrival here in Ontario. It is distiller bottled. Here are my taste notes from today and my very first dram of this expression.
Neat-
Nose: Orange peel, butterscotch & rum raisin, carmels & taffy, dark fruit profile and a slight hint of papaya.
Palate: Fruit cocktail, salted nuts, warming and slightly oily. Building cloud puffs of aromatic smoke bursting on the tongue.
Finish: Lingering, waffs of smokey spice, dark plum and grape vineyard memories in a mist of peat.
***There's a delectable sweetness here that impresses. This more youthful age expression has a certain finesse and balance about it that is quite evident. I very much like it. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Here at LCBO in Ontario they are selling HP 10 and 12 and of course the 18 and higher age statements as well, 21 and 25.. The HP15 has been discontinued here in Ontario. There are only 4 bottles left in all of Ontario of HP 15.. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Other than that i havent saw a OB HP10 here in the UK. Great to have a new expression but are they trying to sneak in a younger expression and phase out the HP12.
The Highland Park 25 is outstanding if you ever get the chance to try it. |

That's an interesting point James. I hope not. They may have repaced the HP15 with the 10 here. Just a thought. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Just a thought. | Surely they wouldnt mess with such an established and well loved expression as the HP12 but then again the Edrington group have recently done away with the Macallan age statement whiskies under the age of 18 years here in the UK.
Just checked the HP 15 is still listed in the HP core range on the HP web site but no sign of the HP 10 year old, well at least not in the UK version of the HP site. |

Here's the listing for the HP 10 at the LCBO where I got it today.

Cheers for your note on this Murray. It isnt available over here, not sure if it is going to be.
Highland Park launched the 10 year old expression earlier this year in Holland but this was only a 35cl half bottle. Not sure if they were simply testing it out in the marketplace to see consumers reaction to a younger expression, perhaps they are still testing the marketplace by releasing it in Canada. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Hi William, this is a full size 750ml bottle. The HP15 has been discontined here so I wonder if the HP10 is replacing it. The HP 12 continues to be popular as well. To be honest I prefer the 10 over the 12 so far. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

The HP15 has never been a big seller so i wouldnt be surprised if it was to disappear. I miss the Highland Park 16 year old you used to get in travel retail, your link to the LCBO reminded me of the HP16 as the label had the same colouring as the 10 year old.
The HP16 had a nice bit of sherried smoke, honey sweetness and citrus. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Found this forum whisky searching for information on Highland Park 10 year old as I was looking to see if it was available as a miniature.
Anyway, to cut a long story short I was compensated by HP/Edrington for a complete load of hassle I received from them. Part of the compensation is a 35cl 10 year old...
Should I drink it or because it seems quite rare should I put it to auction?
I also received as compensation...
70cl 18 year old
HP hip flask
HP Cufflinks
HP note pad
Macallan Amber mini
Macallan Gold mini. |

I have never come across the Highland Park 10, as William says above it looks like these half bottles were only available in Holland then fullsize bottles appeared in Canada so there could be interest in it at auction here in the UK but i dont think it would fetch a fortune. My guesstimate would be £25 - £50 but then you would have auction fees and transport or postage costs to consider but you never know it could surprise you and fetch a lot more at auction (or a lot less).
I would say if you are a whisky drinker, open it and enjoy. |

| Thanks. I'm not really a whisky drinker so I may just put it in the for sale section. |
