Just noticed that THE MACALLAN FINE OAK 10 YEARS OLD SCOTCH WHISKY
and THE MACALLAN CASK STRENGTH SINGLE MALT* have been discontuinued at the LCBO in Ontario. I wonder what that means for those expressions here in Canada.

I wonder if the Macallan 1824 Series is heading your way. If you enjoy the Macallan 10 Fine Oak and Cask Strength i would say stock up while you can as both of these will not be available again AFAIK.

The gold, amber and sienna are already here.

That is a pity as i do enjoy both of them but i did fully expect these expressions to disappear, the cask strength was only ever a special release and they stopped making the Mac 10 fine oak for the UK and Europe so i guess our stock is running out and wont be replaced.

Several Glenmorangie single malts have also been discontinued by the LCBO. The Lasanta has been off the shelves for some time here and the Quinta Ruban is now "discontinued" as well as indicated on their website. I still have an unopened bottle of the Quinta.

Murray,

I remember talking to one of the Macallan reps at a whisky show over here a few months back, he was telling us that the Macallan age statememnt whisky was being discontinued in the UK but certainly in the US he said it was going to stay, not sure about Canada as he didn't mention that.

As for the Glenmo range, I would imageine the new one is going to be released soon, the sherry one picked by the masses (I still think it should have been a red wine finish grrrr!!!), perhaps they are placing the horribily sulphured Lasanta with this one.

I have heard that whisky companies dont always have enough stock to go around all markets and with the increasing popularity of whisky this is becoming more so and some companies withdraw some expressions from certain markets. As far as the Macallan Cask Strength and 10 Fine Oak goes i would think in this case they are discontinued.
