About 3,000 cases of whisky have been stolen from a lorry in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, near Glasgow.
The trailer containing the whisky was taken from a yard on Hornoch Road at about 11.00pm on Friday 15th August.
The stolen whisky which includes William Lawson's Blended Whisky, Dewers Special Reserve, Aberfeldy malt and Glenlivet Malt has an estimated to be value of £250,000
The trailer and lorry was found, in a lay-by on the A8 between Langbank and Port Glasgow at about 5.pm on Saturday 16th August. Every single drop of whisky had been stolen from the vehicle
Strathclyde Police appealed to anyone offered cut price bottles of whisky to contact them.

Lorry loads of whisky being stolen seems to be becoming a common event, i would guess a theft of this size must be organised rather than spur of the moment.
