I recently tried this unique Dewar's blend which is Dewar's White Label infused with honey from bees in the local area. Here are my taste notes.
Neat-
Nose: Extreme citrus, rum & raisin, royal jelly, light and floral, black forest cake, cream soda, peaches and cream, shades of clover and buckwheat honey, orange marmelade and lovely citrus ice wine with a hint of spruce beer.
Palate: Brilliant rum and raisin, dry apricots on steroids, creamy, spicy honey and hint of ginger.
Finish: Lingering, spicy apricot, different vanilla bean reminiscences, berries and mild Smith Brother's lozenges and sticky honey.
***This is both memorable and very flavorful. Its unique aromatic nose and pungent palate make this a very tasteful scotch blend. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I have tasted a few of these what i would call "new generation of whisky liqueurs" and they are certainly very drinkable and are sure to attract more drinkers to the whisky category. Not had the chance to taste Dewar's Highlander Honey as i believe it is exclusive to the North American market.
There was a bit of controversy earlier this year over the labeling when Dewars released Dewar's Highlander Honey.
Scottish law bans the use of flavouring agents in Scotch Whisky but they can be used in whisky-based liqueurs and flavoured spirit drinks but these liqueurs/spirit drinks cannot be labeled as whisky or mislead the customer into thinking it is whisky. The Scotch Whisky Association expressed concern over the labeling on the Dewar's Highlander Honey which was produced for the North American market. There was concern that the labeling which was approved by the US Treasury Department's Tax & Trade Bureau did not distinguish the liqueur/spirit drink from Scotch whisky.
The Dewar's Highlander Honey TV advert shown in the US also drew criticism from viewers questioning English actress Claire Forlani's Scottish accent. You may recognise Claire from Meet Joe Black, she is married to Scottish actor Dougray Scott.
