I tasted this 60.4%abv 9 year old massive dram last night. Here's my taste notes.

Neat-

Nose: Aromatic, pungent, pipe tobacco, licorice with an attitude, cloves, cooked chick peas and heavy fruit syrup.

Palate: Warming, spices that explode like fireworks on your palate, berries, earthy and a burst of black cherry.

Finish: Long, spices accelerating with a hint of green chili whose flames are dashed with some sudden fruity sweetness.

**A few drops of water actually intensified the spices and opened into high coca content dark chocolate and Anisette.

This 9 year old is a monster of a dram not for the neophyte. I would not have any drams before or after this one on a given day. It demands your complete attention. Would love to try it with a totally clean palate.

Now that does sound like a real dram. You've sold it for me Murray I'm going to stay investigating the Benromach bottles that I come across.
