Glenfiddich has unveiled its first-ever vatted vintage reserve the Glenfiddich 1974 Vintage Reserve which was selected by a global panel of 16 Glenfiddich experts.
After the pioneering launch of Snow Phoenix, which was created by combining Glenfiddich whiskies of different strengths, ages and finishes, Glenfiddich is delighted to be releasing another vatted single malt Scotch whisky.
Glenfiddich's largest-ever selection panel included Glenfiddich's Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich's Global Brand Ambassador, Ian Millar and Glenfiddich's UK Brand Ambassador, Jamie Milne - as well as 13 global Brand Ambassadors
The Glenfiddich 1974 Vintage Reserve is is 36 years old and has been bottled at 46.8% ABV and is a limited edition of 1000 bottles.

seems to be selling for £499.99 at the whiskyshop.com
"One thousand limited-edition bottles of the distinctly Glenfiddich whisky, will go on sale globally around the world and only 50 available in the UK market. Now in stock, only three bottles left!" |

Still a unique and i am sure very good single malt Glenfiddich just not a single cask release like the other Glenfiddich vintage reserve releases have been. Although at only 1000 bottles there couldnt have been that many casks in the vatting.
Good point Keith, what do they do with the 1973 and 1975 vintages that they didnt select. |

Perhaps it will find its way into a Glenfiddich 40 year old bottling after a some more years in the cask. |

| I would have thought £500 was a very good price for a Glenfiddich single malt limited to 1000 bottles and aged 36 years. The Glenfiddich 40 year old is £2500 so i would say cheap in comparison. |

| I am surprised the marketing guys at Glenfiddich emphasised that it is the first-ever vatted vintage reserve, as some may see it as a lesser whisky than a single cask bottling where that will simply not be the case. As you say Mark £2500 for a Glenfiddich 40 which will be a vatted single malt, so £500 for this is a good deal. I have been lucky enough to have a couple of these Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve releases which i received as gifts for a special occasion and they were outstanding. I would think the 1974 Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve will be also given its selection process. |

Just saw this, only 50 in the UK???
Glenfiddich 1974 / 36 Year Old / Rare Collection
Only 50 for the UK!
Glenfiddich's first ever vatted vintage reserve is this stunning 1974 release. Created by combining whiskies from different strengths, ages and finishes, the whiskies selected were chosen by a panel of Global Brand Ambassadors. The panel nosed and tasted three different vintages, 1973, 1974 and 1975 and after careful consideration and long discussion, the panel selected the 1974 vintage.
Only 1,000 bottles of this unique whisky have been produced, with only 50 bottles allocated for the UK.
