First full day of my Jewish holiday, Chanukah, which goes on for eight days, a candle lit each night which started on Wed. evening. It is a festive time for us similar to Christmas in terms of the festive atmosphere. For the first time in 125 years, Chanukah falls on American Thanksgiving. Our Canadian Thanksgiving has long passed. We go by the lunar calendar for Chanukah dates.

Trying to figure out which drams would be considered to hit the mark for Chanukah. Something sweet (for the festive mood), something that lasts for a long time on the palate (like the one supply of oil last lasted 8 days in the temple) and something with a chocolate palate (gold coins made of chocolate are given out to the children). Any suggestions.
I'll review your suggestions before selecting some drams to have at home later.
Very Happy

Happy Chanukah Murray, and enjoy the festival. Your mention of chocolate made me think instantly of Glenmorangie Signet and for sweet Glenlivet Nadurra

Happy Chanukah Murray, I always find Glenfiddich can hit the spot when i am in the mood for something sweet, have you got any of the Canadian Cask of Dreams left.

Yes, one open and 4 bottles in reserve. A good choice William.

Yes enjoy the festival,

Keith mentions Glenmorangie Signet as being chocolatey which made be think of Bushmills 1608 400th Anniversary blended which is the most chocolatey Iriish whiskey i have had and a outstanding whiskey come to that.

I always find a nice bit of sweetness in Glenmorangie Nectar d'or but it also has a touch bitterness balancing it out.

Finished tonight with Glenmorangie Nectar D'or.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone! With 8 days of Chanukah in total, 7 days left; there are plenty of Chanukah drams to come.

Happy Chanukah Murray, as you know i like a sherried dram so i always reach for a sherried whisky on a special occasion so i would suggest something from Macallan, Aberlour or Glenfarclas if you have any in the cupboard.

Happy Chanukah Murray.

Sounds like you need a big cask strength sherry bomb. A'bunadh or Glenfarclas 105

And given it's you Murray, you have to have a dash of Laga 16 in there at some point.

Something Irish perhaps? Many to choose from.

You'll find your newly acquired Tweeddale Blend Batch 3 is on the sweet side too!

Right on Mac! Have them all in the cupboard and then some. (It's a pretty large cupboard).
