Thought I'd start a new thread to see if anyone has any experiences.
I have had a bottle of this lurking in the cabinet with very little use, mainly as everytime I have had a dram I've not been overly blown away.
Well last night I gave it a good spin and, well I couldn't help but be disappointed. A pleasant enough sweet nose, but the taste is weak and slightly insipid, with a bitter citrus finish.
Very uninspiring and not a winner for me. Keeping that for my mate who insists on drinking whisky with ice. |

| The Jura 16 was ok but i think if they had bottled it at higher abv it could be very good. |

| The only Jura I have ever had that I would really rate is their 2013 Feis Ile single cask bottling at cask strength. Lovely stuff! But have found their standard bottlings not to the same quality as their Islay neighbours. |

The 16 is okay but as said above it wont blow you away but worth a try on your whisky journey. |

I must say over all I'm really not a Jura fan in any way shape or form. I've tried a few of their standard range and never been impressed c and several SMWS bottles and similarly not impressed. The best I can recall tasting was a society 24 or 26yo which was very good but one swallow does not a potential wife make or something |

TBH - I will drink the standard 10 or Prophecy if offered, to be polite, but yes - Jura is what quite a few people rate as a good whisky, perhaps as its always available in the supermarket and thus makes up a lot of their consumption. |

I have tasted the Jura 21 and 30 and i have to say both were excellent IMO. The 10 and Superstition has never done it for me. The 16 and more so the Prophecy are good but there are a number of excellent other whiskys i would choose with the same price tag before i would choose these.
It will be interesting to see what happens at Jura if/when it gets a new owner if/when United Spirits/Diageo sell it. |

| I have to say i think the Jura 16 is a great dram, like many distillery bottlings it could probably benefit from being bottled at a higher ABV but that isnt going to happen. For its age price and quality i cant fault it. |
