Hello Everyone!
This is my first post so I thought I would make it a good one!
My name is Steve I am another Canadian struggling to claim themselves as a collector/connoisseur (mostly drinker)! Of delightful whisky (as much single malt as I can and the odd blend).
That being said I have a bit of a unique situation as I have family in Scotland that I can order bottles to and will hold until myself or another member of our family goes to visit or vice Versa!
This allows me to peak into Euro side of Scotch (albeit not often) instead of painfully waiting for something to roll on through the LCBO.
Anyways I am happy I found this forum! though I've been collecting for 5 years and have close to 25 bottles (note worthies include a snow phoenix, Canadian cask of dreams, queen jubilee laphroig, a directors cut Blair Athol ad a few others) I know I have alot to learn and it seems like there are alot of people on hear who's brains need picking!

Welcome to the the forum Steve
The Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix and Canadian cask of dreams have turned out to be good whiskies to have tucked away in the collection and the Snow Phoenix is a an excellent whisky to drink and by all accounts that i have heard the Canadian cask of dreams is also. I hope you managed to get hold of them at their release price. |

I see you got logged on OK Steve.
That is a good selection aof whisky you have. I have had a couple of Blair Athol bottlings from the folks at Douglas Laing in the past, a Provenance and a Old Malt Cask bottling which were both outstanding, not tried a Directors Cut bottling but the the guys at Douglas Laing are usually pretty good at picking out whisky for their special bottlings such as their premium Directors Cut range so i would be confident it is a good one.
I wasnt too impressed with the original distillery bottling Blair Athol 12 Flora & Fauna, the independent bottlers seemed to have cornered the market for decent bottlings from Blair Athol, to be more specific, in recent times Douglas Laing seem to be where to go for a decent Blair Athol malt. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Let me add my welcome Steve. You have some nifty single malt expressions. I am very partial to the Cask of Dreams-Canadian Edition which has really skyrocketed in price in Europe (German auction site). I was lucky to secure 5 bottles when it was first released by the LCBO here in Ontario. Enjoy the Forum.

| Good to have you here Steve, it is a quiet wee corner of the internet but with some good combined knowledge which i am sure will lead you to a few gtood drams like it has me. I have the same situation, I have family in Scotland who come over to visit and i make sure never come empty handed. |

A warm welcome to the forum Steve.
I'm not sure my brain is one you'd want to pick, hell if I had the choice myself it's not the one I'd pick!!
Plenty of good people here and loads of discussion about single malt.
Please add your insight another opinion is always welcome. |
