|
|
I was reading some material on the LBCO site and noticed a catchy name of a beer, called Beard of Zeus. This triggered some thoughts about some of the unusual and catchy names of single malts, some which many folks have never hear of. What are some of the catchy or unusual names of single malts that you are aware of ?
Here's a few I have come across, one of which I actually have:
Arran The Sleeping Warrior
Devil's punch Bowl Chapter No. 1
Laphroaig Beach Bonfires
Isle of Jura Mountain of Sound
Dr. Jekyll"s Laphroaig

Some of the Hanyu single cask bottlings are great, names like:
Big Butt
and
Nice Butt
:D
rather "interesting(?)" labels too..... _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

| I think the undisputed kings of the catchy and not so catchy names are the SMWS as they name each and every one of their bottles, some wonderful, some stupid and some outright strange, one of the past ones was Whisky flavoured condoms!! |

Went to my local micro brewery on Saturday and they had 'Mad Ass' which was a dark ale made with Naga chillies and Capscium. I was curious. It certainly lived up to its name!
I've always liked the name of Big Peat. Bit like Ronseal. |
