Sorren is your Man for the Toshans he's an Oracle on the distillery and it's bottes.

I've had the Tulli sherry finish it's nice enough but nothing to write home about. Reasonable price mind.

I havent tried the 1966 but here is some info on it: Auchentoshan 1966

The Tullibardine 500 Sherry Finish is IMO just a renamed and repackaged Tullibardine Sherry Finish, so if you have tried the Tullibardine Sherry Finish then you will have a fair idea what the 500 will be like, the 500 will be a little more mature but not much different. The 500 like most of the Tullibardine repackaged range takes its name from the size of the barrel the whisky matured in, it is bottled at 43%, the old sherry finish was 46%. A decent sherry finished whisky from my experience a little on the young side.

The Benriach Birnie Moss is also quite young but this works well with the peat smoke, worth a try if you like a young smoky Speyside dram.

The Tullibardine sherry finish was a young whisky, a bit feinty but still a good whisky for the price but when they repackaged it the raised the price and IMHO it isnt worth the now £40 asking price. There are a few much better sherried whiskies around for £40

You need to tap Sorren up about the Toshans.

As for the Benrinnes, I've not had this one but I've had a few in the past, they all seem to have a very hot chilli nip to them. Not unpleasant at all but it always seems to be there even with water. I don't know if this is a characteristic of the distillery, where they take the spirit cut, or the angle of the lyne arm. But it's there.

I have never tried any of the Toshans. My only lowland was glenkenchie 10.
