Found this in my parents utility room, my mum had previously used it as a pen box.

It bears a makers name on the back, Barringer, Wallis & Manners. The details also say 75cl so this would date it before 1993 but after 1980 I think. There are some for sale on eBay though they don't appear to be very valuable.

Anyone collect these or have more info?

I would date the tin around 1990, i did have a tin like this which contained a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 which had a rear label with the printed autographs of the Scottish rugby team of the time, Gavin Hastings era, it commemorated the 1990 Grand Slam. The tins were around for a while I think. I kept my bottle for a few years and eventually drunk it, as you say they dont fetch much.

i think there was a serious of these tins, each one depicting a part of the whisky making process. Around 1990 would be about right i would say. They do have a tendency to rust a little.

Thanks guys. Found an interesting history of the (English) company that made the tins. They still survive today.

My box has some crafts around the sides, spinning, chanter turning, fly tying and kilt making IIRC (don't have it to hand right now).
