The Hotel du Vin / Malmaison Group and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society began a collaboration last year to provide Society members and non-members the opportunity to sample some of the world's rarest malt whiskies. They opened the Aberdeen Society snug in January 2010
I booked this hotel friend's birthday and it lived up to expectations. Staff was excellent, customer service prior to arrival excellent. We had a excellent room which was spacious and elegant. This was a nice place and we really enjoyed the hotel a lot.
I visited the hotel earlier this year with my brother. Although we're not SMWS members they were happy to unlock the snug and let us have a leisurely look at their selection. VERY impressive. We then perused their extensive whisky menu and had a lovely dram, 'Breath of Islay' by Adelphi. I'd recommend a visit but there are cheaper places in Aberdeen to buy whisky. But naturally you're paying for the plush surroundings and service.
